Hi Ted, I'm not familiar with Craig’s Power List mailer or Mark’s mailers so I can't speak directly to those particular sites. With that said I feel confident in saying every third party list mailing program and ad blaster I've ever seen is a waste of time. First of all, if the program is legitimate, and many are not, you are building their list not yours. I don't know the details of the two you are referring to but basically they 'rent' their list to members allowing them to mail a certain amount of ads to a certain number of other members. The list is almost 100% junk email accounts that are created just for all the email they will receive. Many mailing sites even recommend creating these junk free accounts. Sound anything like a SafeList?

My opinion is third party list mailing programs are no better than ad blasters. See Ad Blasters Are Dag-Blasted Junk!

My suggestion is use a decent list management and auto-responder service and build your own list. It takes time and effort but when done right and managed correctly a list is a very effective tool. Forgive me for saying so but most of those mail programs are targeting those that are new and/or want instant results with little or no effort. I'm here to tell you, and those sites also know this, their aren't any shortcuts worth taking.

I recommend staying away from mailing programs, FFA (free for alls), safelists and surfing programs. Even the free programs are a huge waste of time and get in the way of success with distraction and chasing the wind.

Start with what you want to do. By that I mean, for example, affiliate sales, product development, memberships sites, niche sites etc.. and then diversify, promote, build your list and keep pushing forward while testing every step of the way.

As far as using Yahoo or G-mail with PayPal I haven't experienced any problems like that at all. I use several emails associated with my PayPal account including my Gmail address and everything seems fine.

Now, if they are referring to emails sent through their systems, I can guess why they would say that. Their domain has more than likely been blacklisted by Yahoo and Gmail. That's one of the problems when mailing from our own email or domain or using a service that doesn't know how to manage email deliverability. See: The Battle For Email Deliverability

I hope that helps.

Hi :)

I'm new here and I don't understand a thing about what you are all talking about.

I bought the tracking program for the purpose of "tracking" my ads. I've been using Mark's mailers for months and haven't sold a single product. The Yahoo mailer and the Craig's Power List mailer are doing ZERO in getting responses. That's a bit strange since both programs say they reach "millions" of targeted users.

I went for the ad-tracker on Mark's advice. Both mailers suggest a tracker URL. How does that get my reseller ID sent with the ads?

I'm also using Google AD-Words and they are proving to be useless.

Mark says, using a Pay Pal address with Yahoo or G-mail will get blocked. That doesn't make sense because I've tested my ads by sending them direct to both my Yahoo & G-Mail addresses and they go through every time.

I added a different E-Mail address to my Pay Pal account and the same mailers result in ZERO responses.

I've asked for help on what I'm doing wrong and I can't seem to get a direct answer.

Frustrated,
Ted

Hi Scott. I'm with you about the tracking links conveying the related site being promoted. The last big upgrade we did I was hoping to have the programmer work that in but it just wasn't possible. Perhaps with another script it would be because I know I've seen it. Thanks for taking the time to share your opinion, Brian

I think sort urls would be good if they said something and didn't just have characters. They are great for cloaking. However I think a standard url is an excellent ad in itself.

Hi Brian,

Yes, indeed I was referring to email communications.

I fully understand what you meant but I think that you missed one important point. Maybe you don't send emails other than to your members ... but I can assure you that your members send a lot of emails containing links belonging to your domain name 4u2bn.

For example, I know an ezine publisher who used to diguise many links from her emails using your service. At a certain moment she was about to give up publishing because of the spam filters. She knew that her messages have problems, but she didn't knew what are the problems and how to solve them. I can guarantee you that 99% of your users have the same problems - few of them may know about the problems, others may even don't know what happens. There are very few people out there who really know what's the deal with those spam filters. The biggest part of the online users think that spam filters are some software for blocking the spammers. They don't have any clue that some of their own messages are blocked by spam filtes ...

This is the real problem: the emails sent by your users, not the emails sent by you.

Well, I don't want to criticize your service, please don't get me wrong.

I just wanted to offer you a piece of information and that's all.

My advise is this: never ever buy again 4u or 4you domain names if you or your users/members will use such links in their emails. Or at least warn your users/members about the risks ...

All the best to you and yours!
