Three Days Of Silence

If you have tried to comment on our blog in the past three days I have to apologize. Over the weekend I was working on our theme trying to get CommentLuv and our upgraded version of the WordPress Dream Theme to work together. Somehow I broke the theme causing it ignore comments.

After a couple of days with no comments I thought it was awfully quiet but I was distracted with other things. Thankfully I received a message from our friend Sheryl asking what was going on with the site. Thank you Sheryl. I have changed the theme and will have to decide the best action from here. I like this theme so perhaps we’ll just keep it. What do you think?

Hey Brian,
I am glad that you figured out the problem!

I am really glad to know the reason I could not post was not because you blocked me – :(

I like any theme that works & has a light colored back ground for the text area.

I am happy now, I will go make my comment & get it bookmarked.

Brian – Oh No!!

If I click on any of the tabs like – Blogging, Business Tips, Featured Articles…. I get an error message.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function the_content_limit() in /home/extremee/public_html/wp-content/themes/WhosWho/includes/category.php on line 28

I will also send this through the forum just in case.
If you need help testing it out – give me a yell –
Skype you can text or call – SherylLoch

Is everything OK now, Brian? It appears to fine at the moment. However I did notice that your logo is push to extreme left. Possibly that’s how thing get pushed to the “extreme’ here….. ;-)

I know how it feels when there is no comment out of sudden. It is almost like giving a big bad news when one of plugin did not work and got problem in retrieving new comments at all. Luckily, one of my visitor takes initiative to contact me using contact us page and inform me about it. People like Sheryl deserve to get some link juices.

@Sheryl: Block you? Never! :) I appreciate to heads up. I had no idea that I broke my site. Luckily the error was a simple matter. This theme requires the ‘limit-post’ plugin and I forgot to activate it.

@Yan: Everything seems to be running smooth now Yan. My logo from the logo contest last year was too big for theme’s design so I just tossed it up there for now. Pushed to the “extreme’ has a great sound to it ;)

Hi Atniz, you’re right. At first I figured everyone was just as busy as I was but then I started to worry about my blog dieing or something. I’m glad Sheryl picked up on it because when I tested it before I switched themes I realized that many people would just assume it was waiting for moderation or something. Once I posted a test comment it just took me to the main page. I know now to test the blog as soon as something seems out of place.

Readers are awesome aren’t they? At least twice I had comment/commentluv issues and didn’t know it….sure didn’t take long to find out though. ;)

Could you bold the text in the comment boxes a bit? After publishing it’s a wee light against the white background.

Hi Dennis, I’m glad to have CommentLuv back. That’s kind of what started this whole thing but it worked out ok. BTW, I changed the text to black so it should be easier to see for us old people. What do you think?

Dennis Edell  on January 17th, 2009

Excellent on the commentluv!

The black is awesome, although…I dunno, is it a little small or am I getting old? Heh.

Thanks Dennis, I think you are right. That’s exactly the kind of thing I’m looking for. Bigger font on it’s way.
