Squeeze In Your Squeeze Pages

I have a quick tip that may help you get a few more sales or subscribers. This concept is not new but perhaps it will help a few readers that haven’t seen it yet or have even forgotten about the idea.
One great place to put lead capture pages in are directories on your site that don’t use an index page. Normally I would setup a quick index page with a re-direct back to the main site. For example, say someone comes across one of my graphics in a Google search. Perhaps they want to see what else I have for them to grab so they strip off the page ‘graphic_example.gif‘ and go to the actual directory ‘http://extremeezine.com/images/‘. Instead of seeing a list of graphics they would be sent to my main page.
Great for protection but we can make better use of that real estate…
Instead of the index page with a re-direct, wouldn’t it be better to use a lead capture page or squeeze page? Here’s an example…
On our site image directory we use an ad to promote our site’s banner advertising service. http://extremeezine.com/images/
If you use a squeeze page to promote a product be sure to use one that’s going to be available and relevant for a long time. It can get very time consuming updating these pages too often.

Why didn’t I think of this? Great tip, Brian. I’m pretty sure I’ve not seen anything of this kind before.
BTW, do you do redirect using php or .htaccess, may I ask?

Hi Yan, I’ve tried both redirects plus the meta redirect but I prefer the htaccess/301 redirect for permanent redirects like that. Of course, I believe it’s better to place an index page with an offer.

That is a beneficial method that you have layed out. It will send that viewer to a location you have intended instead of one that was un-intended to be exploited. Protecting the site in this way assists it to last longer as time progresses.
