Get Featured With Our Promotional Buttons

Promotional buttons image Last year I purchased these fantastic promotional buttons to help promote the Extreme Ezine and they worked out pretty well. The other day I was on my blogging rounds and I found a site that was giving away their promotional stickers free to anyone that asked via the mail [forgive me, I can't find the link]. Then I ran across another promotional product post by ProBlogineer.com and suddenly a brilliant idea came to mind…

I just ordered another one hundred 2.25″ pin-on promotional buttons. I’m going to use these button to promote ExtremeEzine.com in a unique way and collect some awesome pictures in the process. You can have a featured post written by me right here on ExtremeEzine.com for participating.

Here’s how it works:

You send me an address where to mail a button via my HelpDesk.
I send a button to you free of charge.
You think of a cool public place to wear the button.
Have your picture taken there while wearing the button.
Send the picture to me along with a few lines explaining the photo and the information with links you want included in the post.
I post the photo on my site linked to your site.
Then I post about the photo and your site.

I get promotion – You get promotion plus a one-way link!

Terms:

I own the rights to the photos sent and can display them publicly on my website and/or promotions.
You provide the information you would like included in your featured post including links.
Once a link goes dead we reserve the right to remove it from our site
We reserve the right to deny anyone with a boring or inappropriate picture or site.
The button must be worn in the photograph and clearly identifiable.
Your face must be visible. No cut-off heads a such please. Don’t be shy, we think you look great.
Pin it on wherever you want – shirt, hat, purse, jacket etc.. Feel free to point at it.

Note: It would be fantastic if you were to take the photograph in an interesting place. The more interesting pictures will go to the top of the page.

That’s it. Send me your address via my HelpDesk with the title ‘Button Address‘. Your address will be used only to send the button and will be deleted after it’s sent. We will not keep, use or abuse the information you send. This is going to be fun. What do you think?

You’re right Sire, they were from ChatCatcher. It looks ok on my personal blog but isn’t a good fit with this theme. I deactivated it. Plus it adds to the comment count and I don’t care for that.

Going to send your address so I can send a button? Perhaps a picture with a kangaroo or koala bear? Or an Australian pub. Running with a group of beautiful Australian woman on the beach?

Wow, I am not a shark expert but, if you could get a BIG shark (you know bigger than a normal sized man) and it has HUGE teeth.

See, I am not picky.

I’m going to work on my theme this weekend and try to get chat catcher to show at the bottom as Trackbacks & Pingbacks like your blog does. This theme ads the avatar no matter the chat catcher settings and wont link to the chat and sticks it right in the middle of the comments. Should get be a matter of moving a short line of code.

I checked the mail today & I got BUTTOOOOONS!

Not sure how long they have set there, I only go get the mail once maybe twice a month. I figure no need to hurry & pick up those bills. But, I knew I might have something good so, I went ahead of schedule.

I just wanted to let you know that the buttons just arrived today here in Manila at 11am PHT several days short for WordCamp Philippines which was held last September 19th.

Once I get enough pictures I’m going to use some type of plugin the showcase the photos. I like the one Extreme John uses.

As far as a post, I’m going to have a featured post on each person that sends the information with or after the picture/pictures. So when you send me the picture just include a little write-up about you, your site or a project you want to promote. Include any links you want but use plain text format. I’ll take that along with your picture and publish a featured post.

Love the internet! Look at all the cool places you should have pictures of on your site soon – Caracas, Venezuela; Shark’s Mouth, AU, or perhaps ‘Tree House’, AU. Love it – that is one of my favorite things about working online. The competition is a great idea – especially since you’re giving something so valuable away to people just entering, not only the ones that win. Good idea and good luck with it!
