Extreme Ezine Makes The Grade

One of my Google Alerts today was our Twitter Grader page. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m one of the worst Twitterers on the planet and I’ve never heard of Twitter Grader but I like our grade.

To date Twitter Grader has scored three quarters of a million Twitter users.

Grades are calculated by:

  • The number of followers you have
  • The power of this network of followers
  • The pace of your updates
  • The completeness of your profile
  • And more

Hi Brian,
You know I do not use Twitter to the Max either. I never heard of it either, yet it says I am 99.5 out of 100. HA

Brian  on December 26th, 2008

I know, it’s cool Tara. If school would have been that easy I would have a few master degrees.

Something is wrong with Twitter right know but I’m sure I’m following you. I think they lost their CSS file or something. I’m sure it’s temporary.

Sheryl Loch  on December 27th, 2008

I am only at 97.6 but, I did make it into the Las Vegas Twitter Elite. Heck, being on any elite list makes me happy!

I know that many people will check your grade before following you. That just reminds me of High School – “What brand of shoes do you where?” “Do you drive a new car or a beater?” “Do you have a cool after school job or do you flip burgers?”…

I figure I either like you or not. Many times I will give someone a try if they follow me 1st. Then if they seem to spam – well, they go POOF!

One day I will get some “high Ranking” followers & I will rule the Twitter Kingdom! Muuwaaaa!

Brian  on December 27th, 2008

Hi Sheryl, I’m starting to think I’m the dumb one in the class with my 89%. lol Las Vegas Twitter Elite is very cool – congrats

Dennis Edell  on December 28th, 2008

Very cool find. I’ll start using it once I start tweeting in the new year. :)

Brian  on December 28th, 2008

Hi Dennis, you are right on my heels with your score. It’s 83%. Not bad for not even trying :) I predict that when you start tweeting you will blow past me in the first week.

Dennis Edell  on December 28th, 2008

Wow I didn’t even bother looking. I guess my follower plan is working. LOL

Sheryl Loch  on December 29th, 2008

Oh crap! No one said I was to have a plan!

I have been told that I use Twitter wrong. How do you use it wrong?
I figure people either like what you say or they don’t.

But, now Dennis has a plan – that is going to complicate my life sooooo much!

I am off to Twitter School to find out the best way to not be a Twit around other Tweeple.

Dennis Edell  on December 29th, 2008

LOL @ Sheryl – I’m a little confused also on how you could use it “wrong”, with the possible exception of every other post being what your cat hacked up. :)

Atniz  on December 30th, 2008

I’m using Twitter and like you, I’m one of the worse twitter user. I got around 190+ followers for now. Maybe, need to do some magic trick to get higher targeted followers.

Brian  on December 30th, 2008

I started reading an ebook about the best way to use Twitter but I got distracted and never finished it. I’ll have to try to find it again.

Sheryl Loch  on December 30th, 2008

Ok, I’ll give you a little inspiration.
Our dog has a twitter grade of 86.

Yes, we had 2 dogs that use Twitter to promote their blog. Our little dog Tomarra passed away this month so it is just Zed now. He will continue to blog and Twitter.

We should all watch him. His target market is other dogs & dog lovers. He is being followed by 114 Tweeps. Mostly other dogs, a few people, and 1 cat.
He has hit his his target market much better than I have.

Brian, I hope you heard about this from my post of 16 must have twitter tools? Pretty neat score you have there! I would probably write something about this too.. =)

Make Money Blogging  on December 30th, 2008

Lol Hubspot is always generous in their grades. Wonder how they really calculate and judge it too.. Everyone seem to be on the 80-90 mark.

Brian  on December 30th, 2008

Man, I’m sorry Ben. I had a Google alert that showed my page but I knew I seen it before but couldn’t remember where. You should have got a mention because I clicked on every one of those.

Brian  on December 30th, 2008

Wow, I finally scored higher than someone and they’re not human.

Mike Volpe - HubSpot  on January 2nd, 2009

Only 20% of Twitter users score above a Twitter Grade of 80. Allfo you with high scors are really doing well compared to the general population of users. There are LOTS of Twitter users out there with very few followers who get low grades. Click on my name to read the “State of the Twittersphere Report” to learn more.

Brian  on January 2nd, 2009

Hi Mike, That’s an amazing post – State of the Twittersphere – Q4 2008 Report
. Especially that 70% of Twitter users joined in 2008. I didn’t realize that Twitter was that new. Now that’s what I call fast growth.

It looks like most of those commenting here are above the crowd but I already knew my site visitors were above average :)

Priestess Connie  on January 5th, 2009

I have been a loyal reader for a couple of years now, like the new look and the great content.

Now following you on Twitter and congrats on the grade.

Peace be with you.

Brian  on January 6th, 2009

Hi Priestess. Thank you, I’m glad you like it. What’s your Twitter ID? I’ll follow you too.
