We are planning a nice contest with the theme ‘Extreme Marketing‘. I’m not ready to give the details right now but I’m very excited about it. We are looking for sponsors – could YOU be one? I hope so. Contact me as soon as possible so we can work out the details. Leave a comment or use the form below. Every sponsor’s site will be promoted heavily.

I may need to hire/outsource someone to find sponsors for this contest. Are you an established and successfully contest coordinator? By that, I mean can you quickly secure great sponsors for us ? Send me your details and price.

UPDATE: I have had several people answer with the attached form. We haven’t started promoting the contest yet so my regular visitors can get a jump on things if you are reading this. I debated with myself about making the details public too early but I know the comments to follow will be helpful. Time is speeding by far too fast. I still need to work out a few details.

I’m working on a unique contest where everyone that participates will benefit. In the spirit of the Extreme part of our Ezine I would like to go with an Extreme Marketing theme. Contest participants will compete by putting their extreme ideas to action. Participants will promote their own site using unique and effective methods that would be considered on the extreme side.

Here are a few key points that I feel are important and need to be worked out:

The contest and sponsors must be promoted by every contestant.
Each contestant must post a comment on the main contest page (not created yet).
There needs to be a cap or limit on the project budget so everyone can fairly participate.
Rather that giving points I think it would be nice to have a Judging Panel to determine the winner/winners.
Sponsors will be able to compete. Judges will not be able to compete.
I’m a big fan of what is commonly known as ‘Guerrilla Marketing‘ but it’s important that no one break any laws or deface anyone’s property.

As you can see the basics are established. A few details I’m working on are determining a dollar figure for the cap. Another option would be to have the judges give more weight to those that spend less on their promotions. I don’t want someone throwing a bunch of money at their entry and win just by out-spending everyone. I need to workout a time frame. Long enough to give everyone a chance to win but not so long everyone begins to loose interest. I need to work out the contest terms to cover the basics and keep everyone fair and safe.

Any comments and/or ideas would be appreciated. Any ideas or examples of extreme marketing would be helpful as well. And of course we’re still looking for sponsors. I’m very excited about this contest and I think it’s going to be big. The best part of this contest is that everyone wins because everyone is promoting their own site. Wow, what a night. Selecting a winner for our logo design contest was incredibly difficult. Late last night it was narrowed down to the top five and we didn’t choose a winner until this morning. I would like to thank everyone that participated. I also want to thank those that linked to our site to further promote the contest. The talent displayed from the contestants really took me by surprise. I have included all submissions below with the name of the artist and the link to their site if provided.

Just a quick update to remind everyone that our Logo Contest ends today at midnight (EDT) GMT-4. We already have thirty nine entries and the quality is top notch. I had no idea there were so many talented graphic designers out there. Selecting just one winner is going to be very difficult.

So you have until the end of today, Wednesday, April 30, 2008 to get your design in. Tomorrow afternoon we will announce the winner and award the prizes. Those prizes include a permanent footer link in ExtremeEzine.com, 1,000 Entrecard credits to use on EntreCard.com and a site/blog review by ExtremeSitePromotions.com. I thought it would be fun to start a logo contest for our new site design. We need a nice logo and the quickest solution would be to hire a graphic designer but I like the idea of a contest. Other than the few guidelines below, submissions are limited only by your imagination and inspiration.

UPDATE: I have decided to expand our Logo Design Contest. Now you’ll have a chance to win even more prizes. I’m also moving the applicant deadline to April 30th, 2008.
