An excellent idea for a give-away. How To Win Friends… was one of the first self-help books I was introduced to as well. Practices may change but Principles never do – truly a timeless classic. ‘You Inc.’ by Burke Hedges is another that has helped me tremendously.

Thank you! It’s good to re-read this book! Can anyone also recommend a book about reciprocity?

Carnegie is right to a point. But friends, relatives are tapping me out, seldom giving back. Very draining.

Talk seldom circles back to what’s happening in my own life. I host many lunches, sports activities, coffees, etc. Even after enthusiastically showing interest in sharing THEIR activities, there is seldom a return invitation.

An elderly person advised that once we have a set of friends, we’re not interested in adding more. Not! Any advice on helping this to become a 2-way street?
